Along with thousands of others, I’ve been monitoring a camera attached to the nest of two bald eagles, Jackie and Shadow. Three months ago they had two female chicks, Sunny and Gizmo. I’ve been watching the chicks develop from fuzzballs to the exciting moment, June 2 when Sunny spread her wings and took her first flight from the family nest near California’s Big Bear Lake.
